Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies were defeated in the Semi-Final of the Argyle Sports Cup, with Cheadle Town Stingers progressing after a 3-1 victory.
The Wrens Ladies did start off the game brightly and went one goal up thanks to a great strike from, Emily Jones, but Cheadle managed to equalise just before the half time whisltle.
The game was a battle throughout, and the ladies were unlucky not to score their second goal early after the restart. Unfortunately, Cheadle managed to find a second in the 84th minute and sealed the victory with a third goal in the closing minutes, ensuring they booked their place in the final.
Goalscorer Jones, and Izzy Hendry were Players of the Match on Sunday, but there were some strong performances from the ladies throughout the team.
The management team couldn't be more prouder of the girls and the performance they put it. It was just one of those days for the girls. The Wrens return to league action this week, so stay tuned on their social media channels.
