Fleetwood Town are deeply saddened to learn of the death of our former player Ron Kennedy at the age of 85.
Ron made his Fleetwood debut against Horwich RMI in the Lancashire Combination on 14 April 1954, with his final appearance for the club coming exactly 10 years later, to the day, on 14 April 1964 when Fleetwood travelled away to face New Brighton.
The inside-forward, who was a well-known figure in the local football and cricket circles, made a total of 22 first-team appearances for Fleetwood, scoring four goals in that time - and was also a proud member of our Former Players Association, regularly attending monthly gatherings.
