Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies played at the weekend, with both the first team and reserves picking up all three points in their respective games.
Here's a report from both matches, detailing the key moments from the matches against Wigan Athletic Girls & Ladies and Stanwix FC Girls & Ladies.
FLEETWOOD TOWN WRENS LADIES FIRST TEAM
The first team made the short trip to Wigan on Sunday, and faced Wigan Athletic Girls & Ladies at Ashton Athletic. The game was a great battle from start to finish for both sets of players. With five goals scored in the game, Town came out 3-2 winners thanks to a brace from Emily Slater and one from Tahnee Lucas.
There were some fantastic performances across the pitch, but it was Emily Jones and goal scorer Lucas who stood out for the coaching staff.

FLEETWOOD TOWN WRENS LADIES RESERVES
The Reserves played away to Stanwix FC Girls & Ladies at Guildford Park. Heading into the fixture, the girls knew it would be a battle after they finished second last season. The ladies went head on into the game, and took control of the match very quickly.
First half goals from Emily McCarthy & Robyn Hodkin gave Town the edge at the interval, with Fleetwood keeping the pressure on in the final 45 minutes. With some fantastic football on show, the girls created more goal scoring opportunities with the ladies taking their chances and claiming all three points and 7-0 win.
After McCarthy and Hodkin scored in the first half, Louise Stritch, Carmel Daniel (2), Jordan O'Neill & Islay Aitken added to the tally to make it the perfect for weekend for the Wrens. The coaching staff couldn’t choose a Player of the Match, so it goes to the whole squad this week!
