Fleetwood Town can confirm young forward Will Russ has joined Northern Premier League Premier Division side FC United of Manchester on an initial month-long loan.
Russ, 19, joined Town’s Development Squad in June from Premier League side Leicester City, after finishing his two-year scholar and his first-year professional contracts with the Foxes, and has since featured multiple times for Stephen Crainey’s Under-23s side.
The young forward follows in the footsteps of Dylan Boyle, Cian Hayes, and Harry Wilson who have spent time in Greater Manchester in the past and will be eligible for FC United’s home fixture against Matlock Town on Tuesday evening.
