Fleetwood Town can confirm Carl Johnston and Dylan Boyle have been called up to the Northern Ireland Under-21s setup for their upcoming friendlies against Scotland.
Johnston, who has been a regular figure in the Cods’ first team so far this season, has been called up to John Schofield’s squad once again after netting his first international goal against Slovakia Under-21s on his last call-up in March.
Another midfielder in Boyle joins Johnston on tour with Northern Ireland. With 13 appearances for Town and 10 international caps at Under-17s and Under-21s levels to his name, he will be looking to add some experience to the middle of the park for the young side
The duo will meet up with their fellow countrymen Sunday 18 September and will train with them until their first of two clashes against the Scots on Thursday 22 September (2:30pm kick-off) at the Danny Blanchflower Stadium in Belfast.
Training will then continue until their next game against Scotland, which will be an away one on Sunday 25 September at St Mirren’s SMiSA Stadium (2pm kick-off).
Good luck with Northern Ireland, CJ and Boyley!
