Three of the Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies teams were in action at the weekend and here is a round-up of how they did in their respected fixtures.

FIRST TEAM

Northwich Vixens Ladies (0) 2-2 (3) Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies

The first-team travelled to Northwich on Sunday as they were in League Cup action against the Vixens, and what a job they did! It was a competitive and entertaining display throughout the fixture. It saw Sophie Slater and Izzy Hendry get on the score sheet before the Wrens pulled off a perfect penalty display as they won 3-0 with a stand-in goalkeeper, Emily Slater.

Town squad: E.Slater, Hunter, Cardwell, C.Parkinson, Whittaker, S.Slater, E.Parkinson, Brown, Scott, Sarsfield, Hendry, Lucas, Jones, Woods.

Player(s) of the Match: Emily Slater.

RESERVES

Colne Ladies 2-3 Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Reserves

The reserves carried on their recent run of good form at the weekend as they beat Colne 3-2 away from home. It was another impressive showing from the Cods as Islay Aitken added two goals to her season tally, with Lydia Wright also getting on the score sheet that afternoon. The player of the match award was shared as Aitken and Lou Allen performed brilliantly!

Town squad: Thompson, Frankle, Hodkin, Richmond, Wilcock, Thiedeman, Stritch, Brandes, O’Neill, Aitken, Allan, Wright, McCarthy, Daniel.

Player(s) of the Match: Islay Aitken & Lou Allen.

DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

GT7 Ladies 6-1 Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Development Squad

It was a tough afternoon for the Development Squad as they fell to a 6-1 defeat to GT7 at Kendal Rugby Club in the LFA Women’s County Championship. The hosts worked the ball well from the first minute, making it hard for the Wrens to get into the game – Lauren Hardman did manage to get a goal in the game – and was named our player of the match for her contributions.

Town squad: McClaren, Jones, Dunning, Yates, Smith, Crook, Hardman, Ramsbottom, Brooks, Baines, Stoney, Fryer, Morley.

Player(s) of the Match: Lauren Hardman.
