Three of the Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies teams were in action at the weekend and here is a round-up of how they did in their respective fixtures.

FIRST TEAM

Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies 3-2 Tranmere Rovers Women

The first-team were back at home over the weekend after their trip to Northwich the week before, with the clash ending in a narrow 3-2 win over Tranmere. It was a battling performance from the start by all the Ladies, and the points were secured with Alicia Scott, Sophie Slater, and Frankie Sarsfield all finding the back of the net in the fixture.

Town squad: O’Neill, Hunter, Cardwell, C.Parkinson, Spencer, E.Parkinson, E.Slater, Sarsfield, Jones, S.Slater, Woods, Lucas, Scott, Whittaker.

Player(s) of the Match: Charmine Cardwell.

RESERVES

Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Reserves 6-1 Langho Ladies

It was a dominant display from the reserves at Brews Park, adding another win to their recent run of victories, beating Langho Ladies 6-1 on Sunday afternoon. The ladies played brilliantly throughout the game, with Emily McCarthy grabbing herself a hat-trick on the day – Louis Stritch, Islay Aitken, and Carmel Daniel also found the back of the net in the win.

Town squad: Thompson, Wilcock, Frankle, Allan, Richmond, Thiedeman, Hodkin, Aitken, O’Brien, Stritch, Brandes, Daniel, McCarthy, Wright, Latham.

Player(s) of the Match: Isla Thiedeman.

DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Development Squad 2-10 Bolton Wanderers Ladies

Our Wrens Ladies Development Squad had a tough fixture on hand as they looked to bounce back from their defeat to GT7 Academy, but it wasn’t meant to be as the visiting side played an almost perfect game, pouncing on errors and finishing clinically throughout. Lauren Baines and Katie Ramsbottom scored consolation goals, but all eyes will now move on to next week.

Town squad: McLaren, Jones, Hague, Dunning, Yates, Smith, Crook, Hardman, Ramsbottom, Brooks, Parr, O’Neill, Stoney, Baines, Fryer.

Player(s) of the Match: Jess Smith.
