Fleetwood Town’s Community Trust hosted a coffee morning at Poolfoot Farm last week, with all the proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support, and players Ged Garner, Barry Baggley, and Chiekh Thiam in attendance on the day.

With more than 50 locals making their way down to the Club’s training complex, it was a popular event that saw hundreds of pounds be raised for a cause that relies mostly on voluntary donations. This is the reason why our Community Trust staff thought it was so important to make this event happen as it would directly help the cause and the people they work alongside.

Right now, more than 3 million people are living with cancer in the UK. By 2030 this figure will rise to 4 million. Macmillan are there to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, by providing physical, financial, and emotional support. We'll do whatever it takes, no matter what a person's needs are, we will listen and support them however they need us to - big or small.

Phil Bowker, Community Engagement Coach at the Trust, said at the meeting: "It was great for to see so many people come together at Poolfoot Farm to support what is a great cause which helps so many people around the world. We managed to raise a good amount which will be donated straight to the cause."

Great work from everyone involved.
