Fleetwood Town's Under-18s came out 5-2 winners on Saturday in their Youth Alliance League match against Rochdale at Poolfoot Farm.

In what was a dominate performance, Town midfielder Kyle King scored the opening goal of the match only 14 minutes in the clash at Fleetwood Town's training complex.

Zain Marsh doubled the Cod Army's lead just before the half-hour mark with a tidy finish past the Rochdale goalkeeper.

Dale managed to pull one back six minutes before the half-time and then get their equaliser three minutes before the break to make it all square as both teams entered the dressing rooms.

Whatever coach Matt Lawlor said to his players at the interval, it definitely had an impact as 10 minutes into the second half, captain Will Johnson tapped home from a well worked set-piece to make it 3-2 with just over 35 minutes to go in the match.

Midway through the second half, forward Mikey Lane restored Town's two-goal lead in the clash with a tidy finish from close range. Rochdale had a penalty saved int he 70th minute, with Fleetwood killing off the game and claiming all three points in the 90+4th minute when Lane doubled his tally for the afternoon.
