Fleetwood Town forward Ged Garner spoke to the club after scoring the only goal in the 1-0 win away at Ebbsfleet United in the Emirates FA Cup Second Round tie.

Garner's second half goal was the difference at the Kuflink Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Both teams did have chances in the game with the hosts nearly taking it to a replay with the last kick of the gamem but Josh Earl was on hand to deny them a trip to Fleetwood.

Here's what Ged had to say after the match...

“I am just happy to get on the scoresheet and help us get through to the next round.

“They [Ebbsfleet United] are a decent side and we knew about that as a group before the game. They are top of their league and have only lost one game all year and we knew they’d be up for it.

“In the first half we knew they’d start quickly, and we had to match their intensity and we did that. we are just happy that we’ve got through.

"Every game that we play is tough and we know that Ipswich will be tough, and we knew that today coming here would be tough. We just need to take each game as they come and try and get the three points.”

On the winning goal…

“I was bit disappointed in the first half with the chance I had as I like to think when I am in those positions, I am going to put it away but as a striker you’ve got to keep plugging away and when the next chance comes, you put it away and I did that.

"I have been out injured for a few months and today was my first game back and to come back into the team and score the winning goal is something I am really happy with and it’s about now getting onto a run.”

On the Third Round draw…

"We can’t wait for the draw on Monday. I would love to go to Anfield as I am a massive Liverpool fan but to be honest, I would take any Premier League team away from home as I would be a great experience for the lads.

"To be fair, I would also take any Premier League club at home. We’ve already played against Everton at home this season and they put out a good side against us and we did well so we would fancy it again.”
