Two of the Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies teams were in action at the weekend and here is a round-up of how they did in their respected fixtures.

First-team

The first-team weren’t in action at the weekend.

Reserves

Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Reserves 2-3 Langho Ladies

The Reserves fell to a tough defeat to Langho Ladies in their latest league outing, which left the side disappointed but ready for the next game coming up. Louise Stritch netted for the Cods, with the other goal being turned in by one of the opposition players, so it was a learning experience for the squad and one that they can take into the rest of the season.

Town squad: C.O’Neill, McNally, Spencer, Richmond, Thiedeman, Frankle, Wilcock, Aitken, Stritch, J.O’Neill, O’Brien, Daniel, Wright, Brandes.

Player(s) of the Match: Louise Stritch and Emily Brandes

League position: 3rd

Development Squad

Barrowford Celtic Ladies 0-7 Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Development

The Development Squad added on to their win from last week as they comfortably cruised to three points at the weekend. Not only was the side clinical at the top end of the pitch, but they were also stern at the back as they managed to keep a clean sheet after some brilliant defending. Congratulations to Izzy Hendry and Lisa Morley on grabbing your first Fleetwood goals on the afternoon.

Town squad: Lea, Crook, Duffy, Dunning, Hague, Bullion, Parkinson, Horton, Hendry, Morley, Roe, Slater, Baker-Newson.

Player(s) of the Match: Sophie Hague

League position: 4th
