Fleetwood Town’s Under-19s pulled off a brilliant injury-time comeback against Oldham Athletic on Saturday morning in their 3-3 draw at Chapel Road in their latest Youth Alliance fixture.
The home side started quickly as they managed to break the deadlock just 12 minutes into the game, but it was Covy Smith who brought it back to level terms just before the half-time break when he produced a fantastic volley that found its way past the goalkeeper.
It looked to have been in vain as the hosts retook the lead with five minutes to go, but this was just the start of a pinball match at the end of the game.
Smith equalized for a second time on the day with a header in the 89th minute and, even though Oldham scored a third three minutes later, Will Johnson came up with the goods as he netted his fifth of the season with seconds to spare to ensure both sides went home with a point.
