FLEETWOOD TOWN

Another tough battle on the road is on the cards for Fleetwood as they travel to Staffordshire to take on the Brewers at the weekend and they will be hoping to take all three points after their loss to Sunderland last time out.

Town started the better side in the game in Tyne and Wear as Ellis Harrison managed to break the deadlock after latching onto a loose back pass, but second-half goals from Elliot Embleton, Luke O’Nien, and Jack Clarke swayed the tie in the home side's favour.

Before that, Town were at home for the first time in what seemed to be a while, but, in an even game that saw only a few chances for both sides, it was goals from Samy Morsy and Kayden Jackson that settled that tie at Highbury Stadium.

BURTON ALBION

The Brewers are in a rough run of form at the moment, with one victory in their last six games, so they will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday when the Cods arrive in their neck of the woods.

It wasn’t a result to look back on for the side last time out as they lost 4-1 to Oxford United last weekend, with Adlene Guedioura getting their goal on the day. Unfortunately for them, it was a brace from Sam Baldock and one apiece for Gavin Whyte and Matt Taylor which decided the tie.

The previously mentioned win came back in the middle of February, and it ended 3-1 against Bolton Wanderers at home. Joe Powell opened the scoring early on, with a quick brace from John Brayford making it 3-0 just 18 minutes in. Former-Cod Dion Charles netted a consolation just before the end to round out the scoring.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES: STEPHEN CRAINEY

Head Coach Stephen Crainey spoke to the press ahead of his side’s Sky Bet League One clash against Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday. Here is what he had to say in his interview:

“They are a good, solid side in League One and we know it’s going to be a tough game. They’re physical so we need to match that, and they’ve got good all-around quality and good individual players, much like ourselves.

"You need to be wary of that, but at the same time, be confident in what we can do attacking them and potentially hurting them at the other end at the same time. I’ve watched their last couple of games, and they’ve been in them, just they are a little bit like us in the fact that no decisions are going for them.

"That’s just football and I’m sure Jimmy [Floyd Hasselbaink] will have them fired up for when we get down to their place. We are under no illusions about how tough the game will be for us, but if we carry on playing the way we are, hopefully, it will be enough to get the points.

“I know it’s easy for me to say we are going to win games of football, but I do believe we are going to do that and it’s only a matter of time until our luck changes. We are hoping that it will change on Saturday, but we just need to make sure that we keep our levels and maintain our standards.”
