Fleetwood Town are happy to announce both Barry Baggley and Carl Johnston have been called up to the Northern Ireland Under-21s setup ahead of their UEFA Euro Qualifier against Slovakia and a friendly against France.
Johnston has become a regular in the first-team with the Cods and has amassed 17 appearances in all competitions this season. Baggley has recently found himself in the starting line-up in the last couple of games and has impressed in every outing thus far.
The Under-21s are due to face Slovakia in a Euro 2023 Group C qualifier in Zilina on Friday 25 March (3pm) before heading to Calais for a friendly against France’s U21s. That game is set to take place at the Stade de l'Épopée on Monday 28 March (7.45pm).
Some changes from the regular players that are called up for the NI U21s – Paddy Lane has moved up to the senior squad for the first time and will be joining up with them on Sunday, whereas Chris Conn-Clarke has missed out on international duty due to injury.
