Midfielder Carl Johnston had a brilliant start to his international break with Northern Ireland as he scored his first goal for the Under-21s in their Euro Qualifier against Slovakia!

The young Cod started the clash and made an impact, scoring the equaliser after the side went behind early on. Just past the hour mark, Chris McKee played the ball across the six-yard box to Johnston, who poked home from close range.

Barry Baggley also featured in the game, coming off the bench with five minutes to go for Sean Stewart. Unfortunately, it ended sour for the side in green as they conceded a penalty in the 86th minute, which saw them lose the Euro Qualifier 2-1 on the day.

They are back in action on Monday 28 March at 7:45pm for their final game of the break, which is a friendly against France, with both Johnston and Baggley set to return to the Fylde Coast and re-join the Town squad soon after.

Great work, CJ!
