Bumper attendance again for FPA meeting at Poolfoot

Fleetwood Town’s Former Players Association (FPA) met once again on Thursday for their latest monthly meeting and it proved another highly enjoyable gathering, with 36 members in attendance!

In the absence of Chairman Stuart Murdoch, who was attending a wedding, Vice Chairman Phil Brown brought the meeting to order and gave those gathered the latest FPA related news. He also announced the member’s Birthdays for the month before apologising for those members who were unable to attend the get together.

Reg Smallbone had prepared a short Fleetwood Town related quiz to test the combined knowledge of all things Cod Army. Kevin Byrne was particularly quick in answering the questions which led to humorous accusations that he had been googling the answers!

Tea and coffee was plentiful and memorabilia relating the history of the club and its players was on show and viewed with considerable interest by those present. The monthly collection for the FPA’s championed charity, Brian House Children’s Hospice, took place to which the members once again gave generously.

Finally, the ritual of having a group photograph took place outside the main Poolfoot reception on what proved to be a gloriously sunny morning.

It was fantastic to see so many in attendance and we look forward to seeing our members again at the next meeting on Thursday 7 July at 10am.
