FLEETWOOD TOWN

The Cods carried on their good pre-season form in their last outing as they travelled to Holker Street to face Sky Bet League Two side Barrow. The clash was evenly fought throughout, but it was a moment of brilliance from midfielder Dan Batty, who came off the bench at half-time, that saw Town win 1-0 as he placed his shot from 30-yards perfectly into the top corner of Paul Farman's goal.

Fleetwood have spent a lot of time on the road this pre-season, with a 1-1 draw against Championship side Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium taking place last Saturday. Yet again, it was Batty who found the back of the net in this one as he darted into the box to get on the end of Danny Andrew's cross, cancelling out Tyrese Campbell's opener in the friendly clash.

With one eye on the start of the season at the end of the month, all of the players will be fit and ready for the game against the Terrors as it will be the first time they play at Highbury this pre-season, and in front of a full home crowd. DUNDEE UNITED

Dundee United have faced off against a number of English sides so far this season, with a trip to face the Cods only around the corner. Last time out, they hosted Sunderland and fell to a 2-0 loss at Tannadice Park.

Trai Hume opened the scoring 52 minutes in after nodding home from the back post, before an own goal from former-Cod Charlie Mulgrew doubled the Black Cats' lead. In the game before, they took on newly-promoted Port Vale, with the game in Spain ending in a narrow 1-0 loss.

After last season's successes in the Scottish Premiership, finishing third in the league, the Terrors secured a spot in Europe for the first time in 10 years and are set to face either Tuzla City or AZ Alkmaar in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League at the start of next month.

SCOTT BROWN AFTER TOWN'S WIN OVER BARROW

Head coach Scott Brown spoke to the club after his side's 1-0 victory away at League Two side, Barrow AFC – here’s what he had to say ahead of the game:

“It was a great 90-minutes for us. Once they [Barrow AFC] had a man sent-off, we lost some intent to go after the ball high up the pitch. When your opponents lose a player, that’s when there has to be more intent in your play, making them make mistakes and winning the ball high up the park but we didn’t do that well until Batty’s goal.

“On the goal, Ellis Harrison has won the ball high up and found Batty – who I have to say scored a great goal, but I was asking for him to pass it and keep the ball but sometimes you have to let the forward players flourish and that’s what has done now, two goals in two games.”

“There’s always going to be ups and down in games and tonight it was very stop-start and a lot of fouls but for us, the main thing was we won the game and managed to see out the victory."
