All three of Fleetwood Town’s Papa John’s Trophy group stage fixtures for the 2022/23 season have been confirmed.

This year’s competition will start with a home fixture against Barrow AFC, a team in which the Cods are set to face after returning from their pre-season tour in Croatia, on Tuesday 30 August (7pm kick-off).

Next up will be a trip to Brunton Park to face Carlisle United on Tuesday 20 September (7pm kick-off). This will be the first time we’ve met since the opening day of the 2020/21 season when Town came out 3-1 winners in the Papa John’s Trophy.

Our final group game will take place at Highbury against Manchester United Under-21s on Tuesday 18 October (7:45pm kick-off). Fleetwood have a good record against these youth sides as they managed to beat Leicester City 4-1 last season and Aston Villa 3-0 the year before.

Here’s a list of the group stage fixtures for this year:

Fleetwood Town v Barrow AFC – Highbury Stadium – Tuesday 30 August (7pm)

Carlisle United v Fleetwood Town – Brunton Park – Tuesday 20 September (7pm)

Fleetwood Town v Manchester United Under-21s – Highbury Stadium – Tuesday 18 October (7:45pm)

Tickets will need to be purchased separately for these games; season tickets are not valid for Papa John’s Trophy fixtures. Further information including prices will be conveyed closer to the time.
