Two of the Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies teams were in action at the weekend and here is a round-up of how they did in their respected fixtures.

First Team

Haslingden Girls & Ladies 1-3 Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies

The first-team kept up their recent run of form as they’ve extended their winning streak, beating Haslingden Ladies in the quarter-finals of the Lancashire Cup at Sandy Lane in Accrington. Emily Jones was a standout player in the convincing win, but it was regular goal scorer Georgia Payton who grabbed the headlines as she managed to bag herself a hat-trick in the tie.

Reserves

Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Reserves 3-1 St Joseph’s Ladies

The Reserves battled throughout their home clash against St. Joseph’s at Brews Park on Sunday afternoon and came out on top in the end. Both sides played brilliant football in the league fixture, and it was Town who were more clinical on the day as Carmel Daniel netted a brace, with Gemma Newson also finding the back of the net in the win.
