Fleetwood Town’s annual memorial fixture is fast approaching as it is set to take place at the Sky Bet League One clash against Rotherham United on Saturday 15 January at Highbury.
This year is like years gone by as the first home fixture of the year is normally dedicated to remembering fans, staff, former players, and those connected to the football club that have sadly passed away in the last 12 months.
We, as a club, are set to pay our respects alongside our official Memorial Partners, J T Byrne Funeral Directors, who are sponsoring the game. At the game, a minute’s silence will be observed ahead of kick-off, with the names of those who have passed displayed on the big screen as a tribute.
John Byrne, Director at J T Byrne Funeral Directors, told us: “The annual memorial fixture is incredibly important to the whole footballing community of Fleetwood.
“It gives us an opportunity to pay our respects to loved ones who have passed away with such a personal tribute.
