Five of Fleetwood Town’s young players were on show for their respected loan sides in the last week, with one of them playing a pivotal part in keeping a clean sheet – here’s how they got on.

Defender Connor Teale was part of the Marine backline that kept a clean sheet in their 1-0 win over Prescot Cables at the weekend, as he made his second appearance in a row since joining the side just before Christmas.

Harry Wilson started for the second time at FC United of Manchester in their exciting 3-3 draw against Radcliffe in the league. The midfielder played the first hour of the game, doing his work from the midfield as they were two goals up at the time.

The trio that are out on loan at Kendal Town in Billy Batch, Akiel Raffie, and Danny Edwards all started and played 90 minutes in their New Year’s Day fixture against Colne, which saw a late goal from Joel Brogan be the difference in the 1-0 win.

As the club announced yesterday afternoon, Ben Thompson headed over to Ashton United on an initial month-long loan and he will be available for their next game which is an away clash against Matlock Town on Saturday.

Tom Hoyle and Bury AFC are set to take on Daisy Hill at New Sirs for their first game of 2022 this afternoon at 3pm.

We can also announce that Covy Smith has returned to the club from Northern Counties Premier Division side Barnoldswick Town after finishing his Christmas match fitness programme, featuring in three games at Barlick.

Keep working hard, lads!
