Head Coach Stephen Crainey has been named in this week’s Sky Bet League One ‘Team of the Week’ after his side’s performance against Rotherham United on Saturday.
Crainey’s tactics against the then league leaders, Rotherham, worked to a tee as the Cods were able to soak up pressure from the first whistle and then source a goal through substitutes made after that.
Jay Matete was able to win the free-kick around the halfway line after a tricky turn to get away from three players. It was then played long from left to right, with new signing Toto Nsiala getting his head on in, with Anthony Pilkington gambling on the nod on and was there to tap it home from close range – three subs all linking up for the decisive goal.
The Head Coach has seen his side win four of the last six games under his command – top class, Crainz!
