Fleetwood United to play home games at Dubai Sports City

Fleetwood United FC have agreed a deal to play their home matches for the coming season at the Dubai Sports City complex.

The World Class facility, based in Dubai, will be Fleetwood Town’s sister club’s base as they start they inaugural season in the brand new UAE Third Division. 

Cod Army Chairman Andy Pilley has invested in two international clubs as part of an international growth plan which aims at developing footballers all over the globe in the coming years.

Fleetwood United Football Club, based in Dubai, who have formally been accepted into the newly formed UAE Third Division, will also link up with an established junior academy, United FC of Dubai.

The new season was due to start this weekend, but administration issues within the UAE FA has seen the kick-off put back until February 26 when United host Royal FC at Sports City, kick-off 17:00 local time. 

Western Cape Fleetwood Football Club will be based out of the Western Cape area of South Africa close to Cape Town and have already begun fixtures in the South African fourth division. Winning four out of fives games, sitting top of the table at present.

Dubai Sports City is the vision of two leading UAE entrepreneurs, Abdul Rahim Al Zarooni and Abdulrahman Falaknaz. This one-of-a-kind development brings together their vast experience in construction, retail and real estate, and combines it with the sporting values and passion for the sporting lifestyle they both hold so dear. The complex, which is already home to La Liga’s Academy, boast five stadiums for different sports.

Fleetwood United will play their home game on Pitch 2 of the complex.
