Poolfoot Farm is set for a busy period between Christmas and New Year as they have fully booked out their Christmas Cup and Goalie Wars event, with more than 1000 visitors set to be on-site in that time!
It’s been another great year for Poolfoot, the club’s training ground, as it has continued to be a hub of entertainment in the local community, whether that be because of the football tournaments hosted there throughout the year, or the various events that have taken place in the complex in Thornton-Cleveleys
Their busy schedule coming up starts the day after Boxing Day, Tuesday 27 December, as 24 teams spread across the Under-7s and Under-8s age groups will kick-off the Christmas Cup at 9am and play until 1:30pm in the afternoon, before handing over the reigns to another 28 teams from the Under-9s and Under-10s age groups.
A different kind of event is set to take place the day after and it is a favourite for those who regularly come to Poolfoot, Goalie Wars, and it looks like it will be hectic as more than 100 goalkeepers have signed up to take part in the event throughout the day!
We then go back to the Christmas Cup on Thursday 29 December as the complex will welcome 14 teams from the Under-11s age group in the morning and a further 14 Under-12s teams in the afternoon, with the finale coming the day after when the Under-13s round off the tournament ahead of the new year.
