Fleetwood Town’s annual memorial fixture will take place against QPR on Saturday 7 January 2023 at Highbury Stadium.
The first home game of every new year is dedicated to remembering fans and those connected to the club who have sadly passed away the previous year.
Fleetwood Town will pay respects to those that have passed away during 2022 prior to the Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie against QPR on Saturday 7 January 2023, and J T Byrne Funeral Directors, the club’s official Memorial Partner, will sponsor the special fixture.
A minute’s silence will be observed prior to kick-off, with names displayed on the big screen, as a tribute.
John Byrne, Director at J T Byrne Funeral Directors, said: “We’re extremely proud to support this fixture each year. The memorial fixture holds a special place in our hearts as we come together as a footballing community to remember loved ones who have sadly passed away during the past year.”
Fleetwood Town’s Commercial Manager, Sam Heaney, added: “The memorial fixture is the perfect opportunity for the community to come together and pay tribute to their loved ones."
We would like to encourage tributes to those we have sadly lost in 2022, which can be emailed to jake.parker@fleetwoodtownfc.com with the following: Full name, a photo, year of birth and year of passing.
