Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk has joined the club on loan from Premier League side Leicester City until the end of the season.

The young stopper has been at the Foxes since the age of 16 and has swiftly risen through the ranks at the club, featuring for the Under-18s, the Under-23s, and has been in the first team squad for Europa League games against Legia and Napoli as well as other cup fixtures.

Stolarczyk, who had his first taste of first-team football whilst on loan at Scottish Championship side Dunfermline last season, made 13 appearances for the side above the border and played alongside Town’s goalkeeping coach Owain Fôn Williams whilst there.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers had this to say on our new shot-stopper: "In Jakub we have a really, really, really big talent, who I think is going to be an outstanding keeper at the very highest level but he needs to get out on loan.

“We have lined up Fleetwood Town for his move and we are confident he will play plenty of games which will benefit everyone.”

The 21-year-old joins the Club and will compete for a spot in the side with Jay Lynch and Alex Cairns, with his loan signing being subject to EFL and FA clearance.

Welcome to the Cods, Jakub!
