Fleetwood Town's Under-19s got back to winning ways at the weekend as they managed to beat Salford City 2-0 at Partington Sports Village.

In a game that saw Town take their chances well, it was a barnstorming start to the game as full-back Roman Khela was on the end of a lobbed set-piece from Kyle White, and what a hit it was to open the scoring.

Town's number two decided to go with an audacious first-time volley with his left foot from 18 yards, which flew through the crowd of defenders and landed in the top right corner, leaving the goalkeeper no chance!

He wasn't done there as he doubled his, and the side's, tally six minutes after the half-time break after the young Cods stopped a Salford counter on the halfway line.

Good tracking back from Pharrell Brown and a tackle from White saw Kearns pick up the ball and drive forwards into space, before sliding in Khela down the right, who smashed a shot across goal and into the bottom left.

Luc Rees' clean sheet was on the line after that as he had to come out of his goal to stop a one-on-one with 18 minutes to go. The goalkeeper rushed out well, spreading his body as big as he could, and cleverly made the save.

Town XI: Rees (GK), Khela, Trialist A, Kearns, Hoyle, Johnson, Trialist B, Morrison, Smith (Clarke 80'), White (Hughes 70'), Brown (Richmond 75').
