Fleetwood Town's Development Squad showed their skills against Bolton Wanderers in their latest Central League fixture as they managed to beat them 5-0 at Poolfoot Farm on Tuesday.

In what was a brilliant performance by the young Cods, they started out as they meant to carry on. Akiel Raffie opened the scoring with his strike from close range before Max McMillan grabbed his first of three on the afternoon.

The forward stayed deep whilst on an attack, meaning he would find space on the edge of the area, which he did. The ball was fed back to him 18 yards out and even though his shot along the ground looked goalwards, a deflection helped take it past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 before half-time.

His second came after the break with both goalscorers linking up well. Raffie played a one-two with Trialist B and then picked out McMillan with a lobbed through ball from near the halfway line, with the forward drilling his strike home from inside the area.

A hat-trick was on the cards and it was destined to happen as soon after the third went in, Town were on the attack again as Trialist B nicked the ball off a defender near the halfway line, played the ball into the feet of Trialist C who found McMillan in the box, who tapped the ball into the net.

Trialist C swapped roles from provider to scorer for the fifth as he rounded out a brilliant performance for the young Cods at Poolfoot, coming away from the game with another three points!

Town XI: Donaghy (GK), Thiam, Bird, Baker, Leggett (Hoyle 46'), Trialist A, Raffie (Thompson 72') Edwards, McMillan, Tialist B, Trialist C.
