It’s Throwback Thursday once again and this week, we are looking back on Fleetwood Town’s Emirates FA Cup second round replay win over Shrewsbury Town back in December 2016.

Shrewsbury had a lot of the opening encounters in the tie, which had to be replayed after a goalless draw at Montgomery Waters Meadow ten days previous, with former-Cod Junior Brown opening the scoring late in the first-half.

A red card for Shrews centre-half Adam El-Abd soon followed before Louis Dodds doubled the away side’s lead, but this sparked Town into gear as they started their second-half comeback.

Devante Cole fought back and in the 63rd minute, he rose highest in the opposition’s box to tuck away a Jack Sowerby cross at the back post. He was able to complete his brace 15 minutes later as he pounced on a clever flick from Chris Long and slotted in at the back post yet again to make the game level for the second time in the game.

And with seconds remaining Ash Hunter sealed victory for Fleetwood, smashing home from close range after a surging run down the right by Long.

Here are the highlights from the game if you want a recap:
