Head Coach Simon Grayson spoke to the local press ahead of Fleetwood Town’s Sky Bet League One tie against Charlton Athletic at Highbury this Saturday.

Grayson watched his side come back late yet again last Tuesday away at MK Dons which extended Town’s unbeaten run to seven games, and he is hoping the side can continue their form as they host Charlton this weekend.

Here’s what he had to say:

On the tie ahead…

“It’s going to be a difficult game, it’s a different game to ones we have had before and it’s going to be tough because they have a new squad with a mix of experience and talent but for some reason, it isn’t happening for them at the minute.

“We have respect for Charlton, and I have respect for their manager, but we have to focus on what we need to do to win the game we know what we can do as well.”

On finding the right formula…

“The squad are showing real resilience but somewhere down the line we know we’re going to go in front and stay in front, it’s only around the corner we know that.

“All around we also firmly believe that our clean sheets are going to start coming too, we also don’t want to take anything away from our attacking wise because we’re really bringing the entertainment value to the fans because we have some really talented footballers.”

On the mood in the camp…

“We’ve got good players and we have a good amount of spirit about us, they’re good ingredients which means we can be pleased with the way we’re playing.

“The attitude of the players and the way they conduct themselves and how much they learn from previous games because every game is different, they take in all the information we give them and conduct themselves really well with their quality on top of it, it can take you a long way.”
