Fleetwood Town duo Alex Cairns and James Hill have been nominated for awards at the 2021 North West Football Awards.
Cairns - who made 33 appearances for the Cods in all competitions last season - has been nominated for the League One Footballer of the Year. The goalkeeper kept 11 clean sheets, with two of those against local rivals Blackpool.
The 28-year-old is up against Accrington Stanley’s Seamus Conneely, Blackpool’s Chris Maxwell, Rochdale’s Jimmy Keohane, and Wigan’s Will Keane.
Hill played 35 times for Fleetwood last season. He will be up for the 'Rising Star' award which will feature young Everton’s Ben Godfrey, Liverpool’s Curtis Jones, and Manchester United’s Shola Shoretire.
The winners are decided by a public vote, with voting closing on Friday 15 October. The awards ceremony at Emirates Old Trafford on Monday 22 November. Votes can be made HERE - let's get behind the lads!
