FLEETWOOD TOWN
Fleetwood Town had a happy return from the international break as three second-half goals from Callum Johnson, Danny Andrew, and Ged Garner was enough for the home side to collect all three points against Crewe Alexandra.
Fleetwood had several great chances to take the lead in the first half but due to a couple of good saves from Will Jaaskelainen and the post, the scores remained level at half-time. Well-deserved goals from Johnson and another stunning free-kick from Andrew were the difference makers for Fleetwood in the second half, taking the game away from Crewe.
In the game before, Town carried on their perfect start to this year’s Papa John’s Trophy in their last outing as they managed to beat Barrow 3-1 at Holker Street.
Jay Matete opened the scoring in the second half with a wonderful strike from 25-yards with his weak foot before Ryan Edmondson doubled the side’s lead, latching onto a cross from the left. Max McMillan opened his account for the club late on in the game, which was his debut, with Ozzy Zanzala scoring Barrow’s only goal of the game.
BURTON ALBION
The Brewers had a five-goal thriller in their last outing as they managed to overcome Morecambe 3-2 at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The game started out at a quick pace as three goals were scored in the opening 14 minutes, two for Burton and one for Morecambe, and even though Thomas O’Connor completed his brace to give his side a two-goal lead, a Cole Stockton goal just before the final whistle made it a nervy end.
Before that, the Brewers travelled down to the South Coast and fell to feast as they lost 2-1 to Plymouth Argyle at Home Park last Saturday.
The home side opened the scoring 15 minutes into the game as Conor Grant struck past Garratt and added a second through a Ryan Broom goal just before the break. On the hour mark, Lucas Akins managed to pull a goal back for Burton, but it wasn’t enough to forge a comeback for the side.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES: SIMON GRAYSON
Head Coach Simon Grayson spoke to the press ahead of Fleetwood Town’s Sky Bet League One clash against Burton on Tuesday. Here is what he had to say in his interview:
“There are no easy games in this division, you only have to see the results that come in week in, week out. They play in a certain manner and are good at set-pieces, so we need to get rested up and be ready for the game and will be looking to get back-to-back wins at home.
“We’ve been playing well, but this will be a different type of test and it’s one that we are looking forward to after beating Crewe at the weekend. They beat us the last time we met, but if we do our preparation, play like I know we can, and pass the ball around well, there’s no reason why we can’t win the game.”
