Goals from Ryan Edmondson, Anthony Pilkington and Joe Garner saw Fleetwood Town’s Development Squad beat Accrington Stanley 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Poolfoot Farm.
Stephen Crainey was able to select a number of first team players returning from injury for the Central League clash, and it was the senior men who did the damage in what turned out to be a comfortable 3-1 win.
Town took the lead on 13 minutes when Pilkington’s superb mazy run finished with a perfect cut-back into the path of Edmondson who made no mistake from eight yards.
Just 90 seconds later Town were back ahead when Pilkington showed great strength in the box to hold off a challenge a finish well after Edmondson’s flick.
And on 61 minutes the game was put to bed by Garner who made no mistake to finish Paddy Lane’s cross to seal victory on a pleasant afternoon at Town’s Poolfoot training base.
