The Positive Pathways programme aims to connect the Armed Forces Veterans within the Community and improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing.

The programme looks at improving wellbeing by bringing Veterans together through physical activities, social events, and various other sessions. As a group, we work together forming a supportive circle to support each other in all aspects of life.

Activities and sessions are aimed at all ages and abilities to be all inclusive so that the whole of the Armed Forces veteran community feels a part of the team.

It doesn’t matter if you were Army, Navy, Royal Air Force, Royal Marines, or Merchant Navy, our Trust stands together as a community that has served our country. How long you served for is irrelevant too. We are about togetherness because we are much stronger as a collective.

Currently, they are running Online Coffee Mornings (On Zoom) every Thursday as well as a Walk and Talk Session every Monday morning from Fleetwood Marine Hall Car Park. Fridays bring the Veterans Football Team playing every week at Fleetwood Rugby Club.

There’s even a monthly social meeting at the Tramway pub in Cleveleys on a Friday evening. These sessions are allowing us to connect and socialise after what has been an extremely tough and isolating year for so many of us.

They also run Kayaking days, Introduction to Drone flying courses, and trips to the National Memorial Arboretum with much more to come including our Christmas Ball on Friday 10 December. In the future, we are looking to provide a variety of sessions such as fitness classes for all ages as well as social meetings and family events.

There will also be support and signposting for veterans who need help in any form. The Trust has experience working with charities, the NHS, local councils, and many more organisations to ensure that whatever the problem may be, support can be found. This could be a first step to feeling like yourself again.
