Fleetwood Town and Fleetwood Town Community Trust have combined to give 1000 local children t-shirts and match tickets in time for Christmas.
As well as a Town branded shirt, students will receive one adult and one children’s complimentary ticket for a Sky Bet League One game at Highbury Stadium in a bid to encourage the Cod Army fans of the future.
Fleetwood Town’s Community Trust CEO Matt Hilton, Said: “The idea of giving the children a shirt is fantastic and it gives them an identity.
"I want it to inspire young people to take pride in their home town club by feeling part of the borough and supporting their local team”.
Town chairman Andy Pilley said: “It’s an incredible scheme which we are delighted to be throwing our support behind.
"The Community Trust do fantastic work across the Fylde Coast and is something which everyone in the town and the local area should be really proud of.
“We are hugely excited to provide the children with match tickets to accompany the shirts, hopefully they can cheer us to a win, get the football bug and become our fans of the future!"
"This scheme will support local schools and is great way of engaging with the local community. This builds upon our already strong relationship with the club where we work together on the international FITIFA programme and is the start of many more exciting projects in the future.
"We are happy to support these activities and look forward the continued success on and off the pitch in our relationship with Fleetwood Town."
