Fleetwood Town's number one Alex Cairns went down to the goalkeeper camp at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday morning to do a special Q&A session with the young keepers.
As soon as the players turned up, ready for their training session ahead of the side’s home clash against Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend, Alex headed down to the 3G pitches at the club’s training complex and met up with all the budding goalkeepers from the Fylde Coast and beyond.
He watched on as they trained and competed against each other in drills and interactive games, before all grouping up for the question and answer session, with topics ranging from their inspirations to what it’s like playing on a match day.
Alex Cairns said on the visit: “It’s great to see so many young goalkeepers coming through in the local area and were happy to come down to answer any questions they had about either our careers or the job as a goalkeeper.
“It’s important for us to get out in the community as they are the lifeblood of the club, we all enjoy going out and interacting with those who may be in the stands on Tuesdays and Saturdays – it was a great morning ahead of our training session!”
Great to see you in the Community lads!
