Fleetwood Town can confirm the club has signed both Joe Hunter and Ollie Leggett on extended schoolboy forms.

The players were identified on the Rossall School elite football programme and have since successfully completed trials with the Under-18s at the club.

Hunter, who plays in the centre of midfield, joined the course at the local school and has shown promise since his trial with the club.

Leggett, who is a left-back by trade, was previously with our Academy up the Under-15s level and then went on to join the programme at Rossall.

Joe and Ollie, both 17, successfully gaining an extended schoolboy contract registration with Town and will join up with Simon Wiles and his side with immediate effect.

Jack Higgins, Academy Manager, said on the duo: “We are really pleased to bring both boys into the football club. Joe trialled with us last season and was offered his extended schoolboy form in pre-season, he’s featured in several our U18s games this season.

“Ollie is effectively one our own developed Academy players. He spent time with us as a youngster, has gone away and worked hard at his game in Rossall’s programme, and we’ve now offered him the chance to come back into the setup.

“It shows the quality of Rossall’s programme and the strength of our relationship that both boys have been offered this opportunity with a professional football club.”

Welcome to Fleetwood, Ollie and Joe!
