Three of the Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies teams were in action at the weekend and here is a round-up of how they did in their respected fixtures.

First Team

Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies 5-0 Penwortham Town Ladies

The first-team bounced back from their Vitality Women’s FA Cup defeat last week as they produced a dominant performance against Penwortham, beating the 5-0 at Poolfoot Farm on Sunday afternoon. There were five different goal scorers with Parkinson, Boswell, Lord, Payton, and Sarsfield all getting on the score sheet.

Town squad: Ashton, Hunter, Haydock, E.Slater, S.Slater, Boswell, Payton, Parkinson, Wilcock, Sarsfield, Lord.

AFC Darwen Ladies Reserves 2-4 Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Reserves

The Reserves continued their rich goal scoring form as they managed to put four past Darwen after netting five last weekend against Accrington Stanley Girls and Ladies. It was another outstanding performance, with fantastic football played throughout. Carmel Daniel grabbed a brace, with Lydia Wright and Ellie McNally adding to the tally.

Town squad: C.O’Neill, McNally, Richmond, Ramsbottom, Allan, Wilcock, Frankle, Thiedeman, Aitken, Daniel, Wright, O’Brien, Harris, Semple.

Development Squad

Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Development Squad 1-4 Bury FC Foundation Women

It was a tough defeat at the weekend for the Development Squad as they hosted Bury Foundation at Brews Park, with them returning to action for the first time in a matter of weeks. They performed valiantly from start to end, with spells of domination in the game shown through Savannah Chapman’s goal, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Town squad: Lea, Duffy, Spencer, Dunning, Crook, O’Neill, Winder, Chapman, Hague, Bullion, Broom.

Player of the Match: Savannah Chapman.
