Two of the Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies teams were in action at the weekend and here is a round-up of how they did in their respected fixtures.

First Team

AFC Darwen Ladies 1-2 Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies

The first-team carried on their brilliant form from this season as they managed to overcome AFC Darwen 2-1 at Anchor ground on Sunday afternoon. They competed right from the start, until the final whistle, with Kira Boswell and Georgia Payton getting on the score sheet on the day.

Town squad: Ashton, Hunter, Duffy, Haydock, Hart, E.Slater, S.Slater, Jones, Thiedeman, Boswell, Payton, Parkinson, Wilcock, Sarsfield.

Players of the Match: Ellie Jones.

Development Squad

Burnley Belvedere Ladies 4-0 Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Reserves

The Reserves lost out in their trip to Burnley at the weekend, in a game that was much closer than the scoreline reflects. Belvedere Ladies were clinical on the afternoon, netting almost every opportunity they created, but it was Fleetwood who looked the more dominant side in the second half and were unlucky not to find the back of the net.

Town squad: C.O’Neill, Lea, McNally, Richmond, Ramsbottom, Spencer, Dunning, Wilcock, Frankle, Aitken, J.O’Neill, Chapman, Daniel, Broom, Wright.

Player of the Match: Shannon Frankle.
