Cian Hayes was the only player out on loan in action at the weekend, with the forward producing a man of the match performance and netting the second goal in their win over Mickleover.
In the game that finished 2-0, Hayes latched on to a cross from Joe Duckworth inside the opposition’s penalty area before placing his effort into the back of the net.
Hayes also played a key part in the other goal in the game as his free-kick took a nick on the way towards goal, forcing the goalkeeper to come off his line, which opened up some space for Aaron Morris to bundle it home.
After the game, Cian said in an interview: “It was nice to get a goal and great to get the result. This has been a great experience for me, all the players and fans have been great with me.”
Tom Donaghy would have been set to take on Stalybridge Celtic at The Citadel, with the goalkeeper looking for his fifth straight home clean sheet in a row, but the game was called off due to a frozen pitch. The FA Trophy clash will now be played at 7:45pm on Tuesday 30 November.
