Head Coach Simon Grayson sat down with the press at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday afternoon ahead of his side's Sky Bet League One clash against Shrewsbury Town.

Grayson will be looking to build on Town’s deserved 2-1 win away at Lincoln City earlier on in the week with goals coming from Garner and Camps as Town look to create back-to-back wins for the first time since November.

Here’s what Simon had to say in his pre-match press conference:

On the opposition…

“I know Steve Cotterill well and my thoughts are with him and I’m hoping he gets a full, quick recovery whenever that may be, I certainly wish him all the best with his health.

“They play a couple of different systems and I think there’s no coincidence in that, Steve’s an experienced manager who knows exactly what he’s doing, and he knows how to set up a team - they get a couple of wins together and it gives them a real sense of belief and confidence, but we want to get back-to-back wins in a first time in a long time.

“You always want to build on your previous performance and even after Saturday’s game against Accrington we built on that the next game against Lincoln but now that result’s been, we need to keep improving and making forward strides.”

On his expectancy of his players…

“Regardless of who you are when you have suffered the run that the team has been on you aren’t going to be able to play to the top of your capabilities, but I said to them before the game on Tuesday night that we need intensity without possession and to work hard and I think the players have definitely taken that on board.

“In no game that I have been in charge the players haven’t tried, they all work hard and run around to be competitive, but what I do want to see is more composure on the ball and better decision making so that a lot of them can showcase the talent that they have.

“Fortunately, from my perspective, they’re taking my message on board really well as we saw on Tuesday night and we know how to go about our business in a really positive manner and that’s what we look to do on the weekend.”
