As we draw a close to national lockdown restrictions it is imperative that community organisations, such as ourselves support each other’s and its residents.

In recent months, the Community Trust staff have completed COVID 19 Lateral Flow testing and have supported local businesses such as Card Saver and BES, ensuring that staff within each organisation provide a negative test and are able to continue working.

In recent weeks, the Community Trust has also volunteered to help local schools such as Fleetwood High School, completing over 350 tests each day as the students return to education.

Richard Barnes, Head Teacher at Fleetwood High School, expressed: “Fleetwood High School has, for many years and in a wide variety of ways, working in partnership with Fleetwood Town Community Trust to improve opportunities and life chances for young people in the local area.

“Most recently FTCT has supported the school by providing additional staffing to support the delivery of rapid Covid testing for our 1000 students, 3 times each, to enable the school to re-open following the school closure.

“As always, the staff involved showed great commitment, enthusiasm, and teamwork in supporting the delivery of this challenging task. All at FHS are grateful for the ongoing support of FTCT.”

John Hartley, NCS Manager at the Community Trust, added: “We are only too happy to support businesses across other community as well as local secondary schools in the return of its students.

“The past 12 months have been incredibly difficult for the majority of people and it's times like these that the community needs to come together to support each other.”
