Winger Anthony Pilkington spoke to the media in Inverclyde and talked about his move to Fleetwood Town, his time in India, and how the training camp has been in Scotland.

Pilkington – who was the latest addition to the side after signing on last week – has been in the action throughout this week as he has been part of the Club’s intense training camp above the border as the preparation for the upcoming season is ramping up.

In his first interview with the media after signing he had this to say:

On his first week with Fleetwood…

“It wasn’t a tough decision to join, it’s not far from my house which is good for me as I’ve got my two little boys who love playing football and I can spend a bit more time with them – it was a no-brainer really.

“It’s been good meeting all the lads that were here last year, the manager, the new lads who have signed this summer, and the young lads who have joined up with the squad here in Scotland. The facilities have been top draw and we couldn’t have asked for any more.”

On his time in India…

“It was tough as the team that I was playing for in East Bengal weren’t signed up for the ISL (Indian Super League), but they managed to get into it just late on, so we got over there late so we only had a couple of weeks to prepare.

“We went over there, not really knowing what the situation was, but we ended up being stuck in a hotel for five months. It was tough being away from the family and kids but that’s all done with now and I’m looking forward to a good season now with Fleetwood.”
