Interim head coach Simon Wiles spoke to the press ahead of his side's Sky Bet League One clash against Wigan Athletic on Thursday afternoon.

Town are looking to get back to winning ways as they are set to make the trip down to Wigan on Saturday afternoon after losing out to Milton Keynes Dons last time out.

Here is what the gaffer had to say in his pre-match press conference:

On the opposition…

“We’ve looked at their formation and previous performances but it’s not so much what Wigan can bring, it’s all about our approach. I’ve spoken to the players about thinking about ourselves a little bit more.

“If we can get out of the blocks and start well in the first 15 minutes, it will give us the opportunity to dictate the game and aim for three points.

“We’ve got the details on Wigan but the way that me and Steve [Macauley] approach the players is all about what we are about and how, we as a team, are going to approach it.”

On the squad…

“We’ve got a couple of players returning which is fantastic. Alex Cairns is back in training now and it’s great to see him there and he will be involved in the game against Wigan. Joel [Coleman] is also back on the training pitch so we are happy to have good competition for the goalkeeper’s spot.

“Alex is someone I have a great relationship with off the pitch, and we are all delighted to get him back involved ahead of Saturday’s game, as well as Joel.

“In terms of where we are currently sitting with injuries, we aren’t far away. Barrie McKay was back out training with us so we are starting to get a full-strength side to pick from, which will hopefully help the results on the pitch.”
