Defender Danny Andrew spoke to the press after Tuesday night’s draw with Northampton Town at Highbury Stadium.
Town managed to keep consecutive clean sheets after keeping Keith Curle’s Cobblers out after a testing 90 minutes. Fleetwood seemed to create multiple chances down Andrew’s side but none of them broke the deadlock.
Here’s what Danny had to say:
On the game…
“There were times when we had to dig in tonight especially towards the end. I thought we controlled the game well until sort of the last 20 minutes when they gave us a bit of an onslaught really and we defended the box well and kept that clean sheet that we needed.
“Off the back of the MK Dons game, I think the message between the lads was, right, we need to start keeping clean sheets before we even start to look getting three points. That’s one thing we looked at and we’ve addressed that over the last few games and now we have to look forward to the top end of the pitch and try and get some goals.”
On where to improve…
“You have to work on every department, and it makes it easier for the strikers knowing that when we’ve got to snatch one goal, we’re keeping clean sheets at the back so as long as we keep keeping clean sheets, I’m sure the boys will produce.
“We’ve got quality up top, as we have all over the pitch really. Two clean sheets on the bounce now and as soon as we get that goal it will just give us the confidence we need.
“There’s lots of improvement to come, we know if we’re on it we could win every game in this league. But like I say, you just have to work hard on the training ground and be prepared for whatever comes next.”
