Defender James Hill spoke to the press after Fleetwood Town’s 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic at Highbury Stadium.
Charlton took the lead early on through a Jayden Stockley header, but Fleetwood continued to pile on the pressure and eventually found an opening through Paddy Madden. Hill played his part throughout on both parts of the pitch as the points were shared on the Fylde Coats.
On the game…
“We’re very disappointed not to take away all three points. I thought in the second half we were very dominant, and I don’t think they got out of their half much. I thought the front men did well to try and keep them in. We’re disappointed to not come out with the three points.
“I thought that they didn’t really cause us many problems. The front-line dominated their backline, defensively we dealt with the two up top and I thought for a side that we are, physically to compete against them we did very well today.”
On the teams’ attitude…
“I thought the lads fought well and if we go one down, we don’t give up. It’s always in the gaffer’s messages before the game that if we go one down and even if we’re drawing, we’re always fighting for second balls, we don’t stop, and we’ve got to keep going and keep pressing. If we do all that well it will hopefully lead to us getting the win.
“Our goal is just to keep pushing. We just want to win every game and we’ve got to take every game in our stride. We just keep pushing and aim to try and get the three points on Tuesday.”
