Midfielder Dan Batty spoke to the press on Friday afternoon ahead of Fleetwood Town’s Sky Bet League One clash against Bristol Rovers at Highbury Stadium.

Batty – who signed for the Cod Army from Hull City on deadline day – will be hoping to make his debut for the club against The Gas and help the side get back to winning ways on their home turf.

Here’s what Dan had to say in his pre-match press conference:

On being ready to play…

“I’d like the opportunity to play - I feel like I’m ready to play. I’ve been at it for the last six-months really. I’ve been waiting for my opportunity so if that comes tomorrow, that would be great.

“You do all the right things and when the opportunity comes, you know you are ready. It will be good to be involved in the weekends and Tuesday nights again and get back playing.

“There’s plenty of games left to be involved in and I want to be involved in as many of them as I can. Hopefully, we can push forwards and get into the top six.”

On the move to Fleetwood…

“I’ve been welcomed in by the manager and the staff, and then met all of the players, and I feel like this is a nice, homely club.

“I knew that Fleetwood were in contact. I was waiting around the Hull training ground for most of the day for the deal to be done and then I ended up having a long three-hour trip over here; that’s how it went for me.

“I knew that they were interested a couple of days before, but it was only finalised on the last day, so it was all a bit hectic when it was getting all sorted. He [Simon Grayson] had his say on it so it all came about quite quickly in the end.”
