Five of Fleetwood Town’s young players were on show for their respected loan sides in the last week, with one of them making their full debut – here’s how they got on.

It was a first start for Connor Teale since heading out to Marine on Christmas Eve on an initial-month long loan deal, as they hosted Bootle in a league clash. In the game that saw 2,150 fans attend, the Mariners lost out to the away side, with Teale playing all 90 minutes in their defence.

The trio that are out on loan at Kendal Town in Billy Batch, Akiel Raffie, and Danny Edwards all started in their game against Workington and the game started out quickly as they were a goal apiece just five minutes into the game. The game would end up being a 3-1 win to Workington, with all three players playing throughout.

It was a start for Covy Smith at Barnoldswick Town on Monday as they managed to draw 2-2 against Longridge Town at home, with the forward playing 61 minutes before being subbed off for Ben Ashton.

FC United of Manchester had an eventful tie last time out as they hosted Ashton United in the Northern Premier League Premier Division as the game finished 4-3 to United, but Harry Wilson wasn’t named in the squad on the night.

Tom Hoyle was unused in Bury AFC’s away league fixture against Steeton at The Marley Stadium on Monday, which ended in a 2-0 win for the Shakers thanks to goals from Kris Holt and Abs Obasoto.

As you may have seen on our website last week, the club recalled goalkeeper Tom Donaghy from Farsley Celtic. Their Boxing Day game against Guiseley was postponed after heavy snowfall and they are set to take on Southport in National League North on Tuesday evening.

Keep working hard, lads!
