What a week it’s been for winger Cian Hayes, who not only got a new contract with the club, but he also made his full debuts in both the league and the EFL trophy.
Hayes started off the week by returning to the club from his short-term loan at Northern Premier League Premier Division side, FC United of Manchester, where he made four appearances and scored two goals in his time there.
A new contract followed this, which was announced on Monday which confirmed the young forward had extended his contract, meaning he will stay at Town until the summer of 2024, with the club holding an option for a further year.
The day after, Cian was named in the starting XI for the first time for Fleetwood as the side travelled to the University of Bolton Stadium to face Bolton Wanderers in the Papa John’s Trophy, with both him and Chris Conn-Clarke looking like stand out players whilst there.
His week didn’t end there as he was picked to start in the side’s league clash against Accrington Stanley on Saturday. The 18-year-old featured for the whole 90 minutes and will be hoping to add to this recent run of appearances as the side host Bolton on Tuesday.
