Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce defender Sam Bird has signed a new contract with the club.
Bird has made the step into first-team football this season after making his debut against Barrow in the Papa John’s Trophy in October, his full debut against Bolton Wanderers in November, and has been named multiple times on the bench for league games since then.
The 18-year-old – who signed his first professional contract at the club back in April – has signed a one-year extension until June 2023 with the club holding an option for a further year.
